Enfield decides a lot of money every year — the revaluation, the school buildings, the fire districts, the budget — and most of the argument happens in adjectives. Big. Unfair. Reasonable. This site tries to have it in arithmetic instead.

Each page takes numbers the town or the state has already published, applies a method you can read, and shows what follows for a house like yours. Change any assumption and watch what moves with it. Where a number hasn't been published yet, an estimate stands in and is marked est., so you always know which figures are firm and which are guesses.

It won't tell you how to vote. It shows you what a choice does to a tax bill and leaves the rest to you.

Who makes this

One person, a former Enfield resident, on their own time. It isn't affiliated with the Town of Enfield, any fire district, any campaign, or any party, and nobody pays for it.

When a number is wrong

Numbers get corrected in public. If you find one that's off — a rate, a date, a figure that doesn't match what the town published — send it in. Every correction is listed on the changelog with the date it was made.

Your actual bill comes from the Enfield Assessor and the Collector of Revenue. Nothing here replaces it.
